AR Crowdsourcing

Short description

A participatory planning tool offers unique possibilities to bring citizens back to the center of the design process. A universal AR application allows users to place digital trees, benches, trash bins, and other simple urban infrastructure elements in Augmented Reality, anchored to the real environment. By combining user decisions with architects’ spatial expertise, this tool fosters active, citizen-driven forms of architecture, which are crucial for long-term urban development.

Architecture

The AR application enables users to place urban infrastructure holograms within the city’s real-world environment, seamlessly integrating digital elements with the physical landscape on a city-wide scale.

The algorithm will track and store users’ decisions, with the data being anonymously analyzed.

The report will provide recommendations for the planning process based on citizens’ decisions, including a crowdsourced map featuring spatial infrastructure.
